No School and Grandpa Al's Birthday

2013-06-02

School was closed this week and Auntie Kara came to stay with us. We had lots of fun. We even went to the toy store!

Watching the train with Auntie Kara.

Mommy wanted to ride the carousel at the toy store...

Uhh, Mom?

...but I didn't.

Get me outta here! (Mommy looks worried.)

I had more fun when I played with the trains.

This is more my style.

On Saturday I got up early to go see Grandpa Al on his birthday. But first I had to do my new chore.

Making breakfast for Duke.

For Grandpa's birthday, Mommy planned for us to go to the Mall for the day to have some fun. Grandma was very excited to get out of the house for something other than a doctor's appointment since she got hurt a month ago.

We looked around at some stores and then had lunch. I had a grilled cheese.

Auntie Kara and Uncle Josh were at the Mall too, so we saw them for a few minutes. They had a shopping agenda: they have to get the house ready for their baby that will be born in August.

I spent a lot of time riding in the car and in my stroller and on Grandma's lap in her wheelchair, so when we found an empty space, I had to get out and play on the floor for a while.

Getting some exercise.

We saw a giraffe...

...and met a friendly tree frog!

Then we went on rides at the amusement park! I rode a train with Grandpa and Daddy, and the some trucks with Mommy and Daddy!

We watched some other rides, too. One went back and forth really fast and almost touched the ceiling! It was very exciting.

Watching...

They go way up there...

Wow! They almost hit the ceiling!

Then we all stopped for a snack.

You don't mind if I make a few calls?

"Oh, I'm at the mall, eating some crackers, waiting for gelato."

Daddy and I were very excited to go to the LEGO store at the Mall. In this picture I'm wearing the new shirt that Grandpa and Grandma bought me - it has Lightning McQueen on it.

Here's a picture of all of us (except Mommy).

After the Mall we went to IKEA. I tried out all the chairs, couches, and beds. And I bought a rug - there's a picture of it at the end of the blog.

This costs how much?!

Then we went back to Grandma and Grandpa's house. Everybody ate the cupcakes Mommy baked, except for me. I got to stay up really late, too. It was a great day.

In the morning, after I ate breakfast, there was a surprise for me in the living room - a wooden train set!

Is that for me?

Whoosh!

I really like my train set.

There were lots of visitors at Grandma and Grandpa's house on Sunday. Great-grandma Dorothy, Uncle David, Uncle Bill, Auntie Diane, Uncle Milton, and then Grandma Gail!

Having lunch with Grandma Gail.

I played with Grandma Gail for a while and then it was time to go home. When we got home, I went for a walk with Daddy and Duke. Then I rode my tricycle up and down the sidewalk for a while. When we went back in, Daddy and I set up my train set on my train table and I played while he made supper for us. I made supper for Duke.

Oh, yeah - I promised a picture of my rug. Here it is:

It really ties the room together.

That's all for now - what a great week! Thanks for having so much fun with me! Take care, everyone.
