Farm Toys and More Baseball

2019-07-07

Last week we left off in Chicago, where we watched the Twins lose to the White Sox after a rain delay. From there we drove to Moline through a downpour that lasted most of the way across Illinois on I-80. Thankfully we had a nice room - and we were right across the street from the John Deere Pavillion. Daddy and I went to look at it before it opened, and then later we went back with Mom to see inside. They had a loader and tractors and a combine and logging equipment. It was very nice. And free.

Playing with a toy log loader.

Daddy helping me figure out the front end loader simulator.

After the John Deere place we went to the Iowa 80 truck stop in Walcott, Iowa, the biggest truck stop in the world! They had trucks inside the truck stop! And a museum full of old trucks.

This is a chalboard sign in the truck stop that I really liked.

One of my favorite trucks. I made Daddy take pictures of almost all of them, but this one I really liked.

From the truck stop we went to Diamond Dave's for lunch, one of Mommy's favorite places to eat. She loves the hot sauce there.

I am putting some hot sauce on my chips. Mommy laughed because it was really ketchup.

Then we went to the National Farm Toy Museum in Dyersville.

Here we are!

Admiring all the tractors - and there were a lot more than what is in this picture!

I was looking for a 4-track John Deere and I found it!

After the museum we went to Field of Dreams and played a little ball with some people who were there.

From Dyersville we found our way home. We had a hour and a half wait on I-90 due to a truck rolling over and blocking the road, so we sat in the car, in the rain, until the tow trucks cleaned up the mess.

On Tuesday, Daddy went to work and Mommy and I worked on cleaning up the house. Same on Wednesday and Thursday and Friday. Saturday we went out for more fun: a Twins game at Target Field! And we went with Great-grandpa Les, Great-grandma Muriel, Nancy, GG, Grandpa Kevin, Kara, Josh, and Freya!

Me on the train - I wore my Saints shirt and hat for the Twins game. I stuck out in the crowd.

Me and Bullseye.

Another beautiful day for baseball!

In our seats - I was trying to score the game.

I got hot where we were sitting, so I moved up into the breeze and sat with Great-grandpa, Great-grandma, and GG. I took Grandpa Kevin's chair.

Twins win!

Oh look - I am on the field!

And now I am in the dugout!

Daddy bought special tickets so we could play catch on the field. We played in left field where Eddie Rosario plays and in center where Buxton plays and in right field where Max Kepler plays.

Playing the ball off the wall like Max Kepler!

Here it comes!

Time to go...one last look at the field.

We rode the train back to our car and went home for the night. Then on Sunday we went to the water park and stayed for a couple of nights. Freya, Josh, and Kara came and played in the water with us. But no pictures - we were just having too much fun.

And that was my week - Take care!
