Merry Christmas!

2021-12-26

This was Christmas week - I've been counting the days. We have been getting ready for this for weeks, with all of us being extra careful about not getting sick and taking multiple home tests before we can all get together. But we did some other stuff this week, too. On Monday, Mom was being silly and smashed a cupcake on my face. It was funny until the frosting didn't want to come off.

I would rather have eaten this cupcake.

Wednesday I had OT - which was fun because I can do some of the obstacles again now that I am recovering from my broken leg.

Crashing to the floor at OT.

And then it was time for Christmas stuff, so I'll do that day-by-day.

Thursday

Dad drove Mom and I to meet Kara and Freya at GG and Kevin's house. Then we went to Freya's and Dad went home. Dad was waiting for a package to be delivered - our new XBOX. We did some fun Christmas stuff for the day, like decorating cookies and watching Elf.

A Swedish sweater.

It turned my tongue blue.

We watched Elf.

I like this fun Santa mug.

Playing with the Etch-a-Sketch.

Friday

Friday we stayed home and played around. Dad got there around 4:00 PM, and we got the pajama party started, ate some food, and opened presents.

Lunch time.

Jammy time (Thanks to Kara and Josh - these are super comfy!)

Even Daddy wore the jammies.

Supper time.

Me and Mom.

Working on my puzzle present - I had to follow clues to find it. Freya did one as well.

Time to rip into presents!

Freya, too.

Lots of exciting gifts!

Mommy got an AMC shirt.

We both got extra controllers for our games.

Some new LEGO, of course.

Freya got a jewelry box.

All of us together - the serious picture.

And the not-so-serious picture.

Working together to make a plate for Santa and the reindeer.

Saturday

We were up relatively early to see what was in our stockings - as it turns out, they were overflowing with presents. We spent some more time opening little presents and then scratching lottery tickets. About mid-morning we went to Nancy's house for the Christmas party. We did White Elephant gifts, opened presents, played BINGO, and ate a lot of cookies.

Back to opening presents Christmas morning!

Santa brought a lot of stuff.

More presents - more LEGO!

I also got a cool picture of all the US flags that Grandpa Kevin framed for me.

Look at all those BINGO prizes....

Let's BINGO!

Me, GG, and Grandpa Kevin.

I think Mom and I photo-bombed this one.

Uh...almost everyone - I'm not listing them all.

GG, Muriel, and Nancy.

After the Christmas party we went back to Freya's and played some games. We played Trivial Pursuit and Kids Against Maturity. We were laughing so hard that Josh cried and Mommy thought she was going to pass out because she couldn't breathe. After Freya and I went to bed, Mommy talked Dad into playing a game he had never heard of before (and he was terrible at it).

Cracking up playing a silly game.

Josh laughed so hard he was crying.

Daddy being talked into playing a game he has no chance of winning.

Sunday

Now it was time for the prize ball! We had a lot of fun. To make it more interesting, the grown-ups had to do things like unwrap the ball with socks on their hands, or behind their back, or with their eyes closed. Afterward, we wadded up the wrapping and threw it at each other. I also spent some time playing one of my new video games.

Prize ball!

Trying to wait patiently to start the prize ball.

My turn with the prize ball.

Daddy being silly.

Getting some help from Josh while playing Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.

I wanted to stay another night, so Mom and Dad went home without me. I was missing them at bedtime, so it was a little hard to go to sleep.

So as not to keep you in suspense, we all met at GG and Kevin's on Monday afternoon so I could go home.

And that was my week! Lots of excitement and lots of pictures! I had to leave some pictures out, so you didn't get to see all of my gifts - but I guarantee you I was excited about every one of them. Thanks to everyone again and it was fun to have a mostly normal Christmas. Special thanks to Kara and Josh for having us stay a couple nights, and to Nancy for hosting everyone.

Stay safe and stay warm!
